I didn't think he was particularly effective playing centrally.
With Valencia able to soar like an eagle in front of goal, we need all our crossing options in play in order to fully exploit that.

Relying on Demel to get in all the crosses having created loads of opportunities because of their useless left back was a fuck up.

I dont think he's played well enough often enough to deserve praise like that. We're paying about 1m per decent game from him at the moment.

Wasn't great last season but was the inky one who regularly out dangerous non hoofed balls into the box. We just never had anyone to get in the end of them
Needs to not be played down the right though - wasted there

£5m was a bargain and you'd have to be a dick to say otherwise.
The problem is that when we signed him we needed a striker, not a winger.

Think he really thrives when given a free role, seems to love getting all over the pitch. Looked understandably knackered towards the end!

When is Jarvis due back? If he could show some form then Downing could stay central.
But then we have Morrison, Poyet and dare I say Nolan who can play there.
